Sandi Deschambault

Sandi has over 15 years of clinical experience. She has supported individuals of all ages and with a variety of issues including addictions and mental health, trauma, FASD, eating disorders, acquired brain injury, separation/loss and grief, and people with intellectual disabilities.

Sandi is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design and the University of Western Ontario’s post-graduate Art Therapy program. She is a registered member of the Ontario Art Therapy Association, which is a member of the Ontario Coalition of Mental Health Professionals. Sandi is an approved senior supervisor with the O.A.T.A.

Sandi works from a client centred framework utilizing a synthesized approach which includes elements of Cognitive behavioural therapy, Narrative and Solution-Focused therapy.

Sandi has an updated vulnerable persons/vulnerable sector police check (February /09) and has professional liability coverage.

Art therapy is an expressive means to explore feelings, thoughts and behaviour that is very useful for individuals who have a visual communication style. It involves art making in the process of healing. It is helpful with all ages and is often used in conjunction with traditional “talk therapy”. There is no artistic experience necessary!

Sandi cannot provide a diagnostic service. However, she is qualified to provide assessment and treatment. In cases where consent is provided by the client(s), consultation with community partners will occur upon request. All services support an LGBT2Q friendly approach.

Sandi is able to provide services throughout Simcoe County. She also has a home office just outside of Midland. All services are private and confidential.
